In the
beginning...
I spent my lean
years at ad shops in & around NYC, finally hitting the Big Time™
at Bozell Worldwide Advertising on the huge Bell Atlantic Mobile (now
Verizon) account.
Go West!
A trip to the
post-grunge-yet-still-grungy Pacific NW inspired me to quit, load
my car & make like the Joads (or Clampetts, for you non-literary
type) for the opposite coast.
At the
center of the gaming universe
Who knew when
I joined gamemaker Wizards of the Coast that it would soon be home
to a cultural phenomemon -- the Pokémon Trading Card Game --
with me as lead copywriter. Other mega-licenses I took lead on: MLB,
Star Wars & Harry Potter.
Flying
solo
After 5 years
at WotC, I decided (with the gentle nudging of a massive layoff) to
go the freelance route. My first big client was...Pokémon USA,
no longer a WotC brand. Gen Con, the country's #1 game convention
(also once part of WotC), has tapped my talent for 6 years. Other
notable clients have included drugstore.com, Coca-Cola, Music Machine
instrument distributors (for Gibson & Fender guitars), InStar
insurance software & Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Long Island.
